3. Coordinated Voltage Control of Distribution Systems with Distributed Generations (DGs)
-
Coordinated the use of available distributed generation (DG) with the traditional voltage regulation devices, taking into consideration the reactive power limits of the DG inverters to maintain the system voltage within predefined limits.
-
Used the reactive power generation capacity of the DG inverters to cope with the dynamic generation of the DGs without increasing the operations of the traditional voltage regulation devices available.
-
Developed and implemented a real-time CHIL testbed with DNP3 communication to validate the algorithm.
4. Graph Search Based Energy Management Strategy for Grid-Connected Distributed Energy Resources
-
Optimized the operations of grid-connected DERs taking into account the forecasted future status (Real-time price, DG generation, Energy storage states, and Load forecasts) of the system.
-
Formulated the optimization problem as a graph with discrete time and energy states of the system and using graph search to find the optimum solution.
-
Developed and implemented a real-time CHIL testbed with DNP3 communication to validate the algorithm.
